Chicon Corridor Demolition Kick-Off Party - Saturday, July 28th

The Chestnut Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation (CNRC) is hosting a demolition party and BBQ this Saturday July 28th from 11 AM - 1:30 PM. We will have food, drinks, music and provide multiple opportunities for everyone to share their past stories and future vision of the corridor.  The BBQ will be held at the site of the old Fresh-Up Club, at 1309 Chicon.

The BBQ will kick off the redevelopment of Chicon. CNRC plans to build three, 3 story mixed use buildings between 13th and 14th streets.  The buildings will have affordable housing condominiums above street level retail.    Please come to the BBQ to learn more about the project and to remember the neighborhoods past will looking toward the future

E-Cycling Old Computers and TVs - April 15th

Hello Chestnut Addition Neighborhood Association,

The Student Engineering Council is hosting their annual E-cycling drive on April 15, 2012 in the LBJ parking lot from 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a campus-wide effort to reduce poor recycling methods of unwanted and/or unused electronics. Goodwill and Computer Works are teaming up with UT to provide the greater Austin area with an opportunity to recycle their electronics.

During this drive, volunteers can sign up and help with various tasks that include packaging the electronics and directing the flow of traffic.

Our committee was wondering if you knew of any electronics that the Chestnut community may have that we could possibly recycle in the proper manner.

Also, we would greatly appreciate if you spread the word about our event and encourage participation and/or telling people to bring their electronics on this day.

More information can be found on our website - http://sec.engr.utexas.edu/ewaste/

The FB event link - http://www.facebook.com/events/322210364497090/

Thank you so much for your time and effort.

If you have any questions, you can contact us at this e-mail.

Sincerely,

E-cycle team
