Comprehensive Plan Kick-Off Survey
Take the Kick-Off Survey!

Couldn't make it to the Comprehensive Plan Kick-Off Open House on October 12? That's okay: You can still take the kick-off survey: tell us what Austin's strengths and weaknesses are, as well as what you think can be done to improve Austin! The results of this survey will be used to shape the first Community Forum Series, the week of November 9.

How Do You Envision Austin's New Central Library?

The Austin Public Library Commission invites the Austin community to attend Public Input Meetings for the new Central Library with the architectural team of Lake | Flato Architects and Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott. The goal of this process is to capture the vision, values, and ideas of the community. Your input is crucial to ensure that the new Central Library meets your needs. The following five Public Input Meetings have been scheduled to provide an opportunity for citizens to meet the design team and to offer input.

* Tuesday, October 27 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Manchaca Road Branch, 5500 Manchaca Rd.
* Wednesday, October 28 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Ruiz Branch, 1600 Grove Blvd.
* Thursday, October 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
City Hall/Council Chambers, 301 W. Second St.
* Tuesday, November 10 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Carver Branch, 1161 Angelina St.
* Thursday, November 12 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
North Village Branch, 2505 Steck Ave.

If you are unable to attend these Public Input Meetings, you may submit suggestions online. New Central Library suggestion cards will also be available at all Austin Public Library locations and at City Hall.

Once the public input is collected and sorted, recurring themes will be identified as priorities. These priorities will be considered as the design is developed. Support the people who clean up Chestnut!

Hello Neighbors,

Hope you all are doing well! I had an interesting discussion with our trash man this morning that I wanted to share. He informed me that it would really help him out a lot if we put our recycling and trash can about 5 feet apart. He said that it is really difficult for him to pick them up with his arm thingy without knocking them over if they are close together. I told him we would make sure to keep the trash cans separated in the future and he asked if I could spread the word to my neighbors. I had no idea this was a problem for them, so I thought I would let you all know just in case.

I'm not sure if you all made it out to this recent event at Austin Studios (Trash Project). Kyle and I went and ever since then i have found a new appreciation for our trash folks.

Feel free to spread the word!

Hope you all have a great weekend:-)

Faith
