Everyone is encouraged to bring something to add to bags. All items should be bagged and sealed, especially the homemade goodies. Approximately 45 bags will be prepared.

Accessible Vegetables

Dear Friends, Neighbors and Friends of Friends,

On Sat. May 22nd, from 8:30 - 1:30, we will be having a benefit/sale with a percentage of the proceeds going to AccessibleVegetables. You can participate in a number of ways, including making money for your own cause, bartering for services you may want, recycling items you no longer have use for, donating a service, etc.

Visit AccessibleVegetables for details (less than 10 days) AND to learn more about this simple human movement with global aspirations. You don't have to be a gardener to participate or reap rewards and you don't have to wait for your plants to bear fruit to put up your sign..help spread the movement by posting signs.

Thank you for passing this along to your friends, family, fellow gardeners, coworkers and groups.

SIGNS: 18" x 24" yard signs can be purchased for $4@ or $3 for 5 or more. 8.5 x 11 pdfs are downloadable from the website and can be laminated and used to mark accessible baskets, bags, areas in your yard/garden.

Congrats to CNRC for the Livable City Award!

The past week has been a great one for the Chestnut Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation and Franklin Gardens. We won the project of the year award last Friday from Envision Central Texas, and last night we won an award from Livable Cities - both for our 22-unit senior affordable housing project.

The highlight of the evening was Ms Rhambo accepting the award. I had so many people come up afterwards to tell me their favorite part of the night was her acceptance speech. Attached are a couple of photos from last night.

We should all be so proud of what we have accomplished. I feel blessed to be a part of such a great organization. Thank you for everything you do for our community!
