June 18th: Election Runoff, Juneteenth, and No CANA Meeting

Hello All,
June 18th is a busy day:

1) Its the runoff election for a city council seat between Randi Shade and Kathie Tovo. Go out to our local precinct voting station at the David Chapel, corner of Chestnut and MLK (2211 MLK), and vote!

2) Austin Juneteenth Celebration. There will be 2k Walk/Run, a beauty Pagent
Here are the events:



a) 2K Freedom Run/Walk, 9:30am, Comal St. and MLK Blvd
Join family, friends, neighbors, community organizations & businesses at this highly visible, very powerful event that will raise awareness about the increasing prevalence of health disparities within the African-American community
b) Juneteenth Historical Parade ,10am, Comal St. and MLK Blvd
A great tradition for the whole family...
c)
Park Celebration, Noon - 9pm Rosewood Park - 1182 Pleasant Valley Rd.
Kids Area Rides and Games…R&B, Blues, Hip-Hop, Gospel…

3) There will be NO monthly CANA meeting.
